Purpose

The Livestock Management CDE tests students' knowledge of the scientific basis and practical application of livestock management, including nutrition, breeding and genetics, reproduction, quality assurance and herd health, animal behavior and welfare, and business management, marketing, and product evaluation.

What students do: Teams of five or six work together through six species stations: beef cattle, dairy cattle, horses, poultry, sheep and goats, and swine. At each station, the team completes a hands-on practicum exam.
