Purpose
The purpose of the Agriscience CDE is to develop a foundation of knowledge and skills that will prepare first-year students (9th or 10th grade) to continue in agricultural education coursework and enter agricultural careers within the natural resources, animal science, and plant science career fields.
What students do: Teams of four first-year students complete a team practicum with a perch dissection and a fetal pig dissection. Each student also takes a written exam and, before the event, submits a Foundational SAE Portfolio: a written report on an agricultural career.
Foundational SAE Portfolio Submission
Submit your students' Foundational SAE Portfolios via the following form no later than March 8, 2027. Submissions after that date will not be accepted. Only portfolios submitted through this form will be accepted. You will receive an email receipt for each submission. If multiple portfolios are submitted for the same student, the latter will be graded. Foundational SAE Portfolios for participants and alternates on your team should be submitted. Teams must also register for the Agriscience CDE via the CDE registration system by the CDE registration deadline, or the team will be disqualified.
