Purpose
The purpose of the Agricultural Biotechnology CDE is to encourage students to explore the diversity of the biotechnology industry in terms of basic knowledge, skills, and applications of biotechnology in the workplace. Agricultural biotechnology has important implications for the animal, plant, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
What students do: Each student takes a written exam and identifies equipment and tools used in agricultural biotechnology. Teams of four research a problem built on the year's theme, develop a genetic engineering plan and a breeding plan that solve it, and present their plan in Google Slides.
