Ag Technology and Mechanics

Content

Purpose

The Agricultural Technology & Mechanics CDE combines strong technical content with practical, hands-on skills. Its subject matter is grouped into three systems areas: Small Gas Engines or Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems (alternating years), Electrical Systems, and Machines.

What students do: Each student completes a hands-on practicum and a written test in each system: small gas engines (even years) or hydraulics and pneumatics (odd years), electrical wiring to code, and a theme-related machine. Teams of four also complete calculations and conversions related to the year's theme.
