Purpose
The purpose of the Agronomy CDE is to create interest and promote understanding in agronomy by providing opportunities for recognition through the demonstration of skills and proficiencies. It also gives students an opportunity to explore career opportunities in agronomy and encourages them to pursue those careers.
What students do: Each student identifies crop and weed plants and seeds, insect pests, plant diseases and disorders, and agronomic machinery and safety equipment, and answers soil science questions. Teams of four also answer multiple-choice questions about a field scenario.
